Create a Shortcut to Turn the Desktop Icons On/Off

This is a great utility to hide the desktop icons on/off. This seemed like a great idea, and the best way to do exactly that.

Setting Up the Shortcut

image The first thing you’ll need to do is download the HideDesktopIcons application and save it somewhere other than the desktop, preferably somewhere where it won’t be deleted.

 

imageNow you need to create a shortcut to the executable, and put it somewhere like the Quick Launch bar (drag & drop the shortcut to QL Bar)

 

Now you can access the desktop icons through a shortcut icon or shortcut key.
