The theme song for Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010 "Oh yaaro, yeh India bula liya" is today launched 5pm at Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon, which is composed and sung by Oscar winning music maestro A.R. Rahman. The song titled ‘Swagatham‘ has lyrics ‘Yaaro, India bula liya’ is all about energy, winning and don’t give up.
"I feel honoured to get the opportunity to compose the theme song for the mega-event. It was not an easy task. I had started composing it six months ago and finished just last night," Rahman said.

The song is very weak, especially for the purpose that it has been written for. At best it seems to be a rallying anthem for a B-grade movie. The music is choppy, the lyrics poorly written and definately not something that will project an international image at the games….I expected to see something like this being done for a Bajaj scooter or Pepsi ad. No offence AR, but this one was a miss……..

the comments whatever I read above are just like our attitude, I think none of the composers available today would have directed and sung this song as best as you have done Sir. I request every one to follow as I say. Just listen to this song with your eyes closed and understand word by word along with the music running along at least once with out any presumptions in your mind. Those who even don’t know about what music composing is must at least listen it thrice and I guarantee you that you will start loving it. Its even better than FIFA song by Sakira. When she sings this song, most of the people is looking at her glamour. The common weath game’s theme song’s longer version has more beauty than the shorter version.
