in Firefox

Firefox Browser is generally best and a cool web browser. But one thing I hate about is that, it consumes a lot of Memory.See the screenshot below of the current usage of firefox which is around 210Mb considerably very high.

Process to Reduce RAM Usage :
1. Open Firefox and go to the Address Bar. Type in about:config and then press Enter.
2. Right Click in the page and select New -> Boolean.
3. In the box that pops up enter config.trim_on_minimize. Press Enter.
4. Now select True and then press Enter.
5. Restart Firefox.

So make these changes and you will surely find your system running great and have a better browsing experience.

The config.trim_on_minimize setting (Windows only) does not reduce the amount of memory used, it just swaps memory from RAM to disk. This may make Firefox slow to “wake up”. If config.trim_on_minimize is left set at the default value (false), the memory will be swapped to disk only if it is needed by another application. Therefore, for most purposes the default value is recommended.
