uTorrent is a very popular cross-platform BitTorrent client but with the release of v3.2.2, the company included sponsored ads within the client to generate extra revenue. Surely, the idea of integrating in-app advertisement in the form of a yellow bar on top and an image ad in the sidebar, wasn’t wise as it is distracting and bit annoying for regular users. Perhaps, if you want to get rid of these ads then that can be easily done from within the uTorrent settings without using any third party ad blocking program.
Removing Ads from uTorrent – Open uTorrent, click on Options > Preferences and select Advanced from the Preferences window. Now type ‘offers’ in the filter box and look for ‘offers.left_rail_offer_enabled’ and ‘offers.sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled.’ Set the value of these both to "false", click Apply and Ok. Exit uTorrent and open it.
Alternatively, you can hide the sidebar advertisement by unchecking the ‘Show Plus Information’ option from the uTorrent Options menu.
