KB971033 update for WAT helps detect validation errors, activation exploits, and any tampering attempts made to important Windows 7 system files. Be aware that some counterfeit copies of Windows include malware.

Causes of WAT update – When this update is installed, it performs a validation process for the copy of Windows that is running on your computer. If a validation error or activation exploit is detected, and you decide not to resolve the validation error or the activation exploit at that time, you will be periodically notified that the copy of Windows 7 that is running on your computer is not genuine. Note – It is advisable not to install this update if you’re running non-genuine Windows 7. You can easily avoid it by hiding it from Windows update.

As usual, Microsoft has again failed to stop piracy even on its upcoming OS Windows 7. A 100% working crack is leaked, which allows successful activation of Windows 7 RTM Ultimate via OEM licensing exploit.

It easily passes Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) validation and activates your Windows 7 copy. It seems like pirates can activate Windows 7 before any MSDN/TechNet subscribers or Microsoft genuine customers.

The crack is said to come from a Lenovo OEM disc which was leaked out and used by hackers to find the OEM-SLP product key and OEM certificate of Windows 7 Ultimate.

Update: The extracted Windows 7 Ultimate OEM-SLP product key, 22TKD-F8XX6-YG69F-9M66D-PMJBM, can be used to activate installed Windows 7 Ultimate system, which BIOS has a valid OEM SLIC 2.1, and corresponding OEM certificate.

The master OEM-SLP product key for Windows 7 Ultimate, can also activate many OEM brands, such as HP, Dell, MSI and Lenovo. Checkout the discussion at Windows 7 forums.

Update 2: A guy named Hazar has came up with a new tool ‘RemoveWAT‘ which claims to completely remove Windows Activation Technologies (WAT) from Windows 7. Also, it retains Windows to have Genuine status, receive all updates and pass the genuine check in apps like Windows Defender.
