If you’re a die hard Chrome user then here is something interesting that you might not want to miss. Google has introduced an official Chrome extension ‘My Chrome Theme’, allowing users to simply create custom themes and decorate the browser using their favorite images and colors. Earlier, one was limited to readymade themes designed by Google and various Artists. But not anymore, it’s your time now to be creative!

My Chrome Theme lets you easily design a desired Google Chrome theme in just a few clicks to add a personal touch to your browser. To get started, simply install the extension and launch the app from new tab page. Then choose a custom image from your computer or using webcam that will serve as the Chrome’s background. Adjust the image position using the couple of options listed and proceed to Step 2.

There you can choose a custom color for toolbar, background tab and frame. Or simply tap ‘I’m feeling lucky’ to automatically add a color scheme.

Next give the theme a name (optional description) and your personalized theme for Chrome is ready to use. You can install the theme and share it with anyone on Google+ or using the unique URL provided.

One downside is that the app currently lacks some advanced editing features and offers very limited amount of colors. We hope that should be integrated in future updates.

Just a day back, Google introduced another cool change to its design by redesigning the substantially used Google bar. The new Google bar replaces the horizontal black bar at the top of the page, allowing you to navigate quickly between Google services, as well as offers the ability to check your Google+ notifications and quickly share stuff with desired people on Google Plus. The latest new Google bar is not launched publicly yet but has been rolled out randomly for some users at the moment.

Fortunately, a Google+ user ‘Maximilian Majewski’ has discovered a 100% working hack to enable the new Google bar right now. The hack can easily be applied on Google Chrome browser to edit a certain value and thus access the awesome new Google menu bar. Switching to the New Google bar is real easy, just follow the steps below:

1. Install the ‘Edit This Cookie’ extension to change cookies on Chrome.

2. Load Google.com, right-click on webpage and select ‘Edit cookies’.

3. Move to the "PREF" section and change its value to this: (exact code)

4. Click on ‘Submit cookie changes’ at the bottom.

5. Reload Google and you have the new Google bar.

You will now find links to the most accessed services in a new drop-down Google menu nested under the Google logo. You can access additional services by hovering over the “More” link at the bottom of the list. Just click on your choice and you’re over to it!

Few months back, Google rolled out the Cosmic Panda experimental design for YouTube that offers a different look and a new experience for Videos, Playlists, and Channels but hasn’t been launched publicly yet. It now appears that YouTube is testing a fresh new design for their homepage which isn’t introduced for official preview yet but is being rolled out randomly for some YouTube users. Moritz Tolxdorff, a smart folk on Google+ has figured out a way to get the new design by tricking a related cookie.

You can easily enable the New YouTube homepage on Google Chrome and Firefox browser. This wont affect the design of individual videos webpage. To do so,

1. Open www.youtube.com

2. Press Ctrl + Shift and J in Chrome to open the Developer Tools.

Press Ctrl+Shift+K in Firefox

3. In Chrome, click on the "Console" Tab, paste the below code and hit enter.

In Firefox, just paste the above code (next to grey arrow) and hit enter.

4. Reload YouTube and enjoy the new layout.

What’s New?

1. An all new beautifully designed homepage.

2. Subscribed and Suggested channels are listed in a sidebar on left. Added option to check the Popular and Trending videos from YouTube.

3. The mid-panel shows the lists of most recent videos from your Subscriptions, thus making it easier to keep up with the latest activity.

4. Quickly subscribe to favorite channels by sorting them on basis of categories.

5. Recommended videos are listed on the right sidebar of homepage.

This new YouTube design isn’t declared officially yet and might get changed in future.

Certainly, entire Google team is on steroids – They first rolled out a fresh new design for Google Search, new light and spacious theme for Gmail, followed by the launch of its own social network “Google+“. Now, Google who owns the most popular video sharing site “YouTube“, has rolled out a completely new redesigned interface for YouTube, currently in experimental mode.

Cosmic Panda, the latest TestTube experiment from YouTube team offers a different look and a new experience for Videos, Playlists, and Channels at YouTube. One can easily switch to YouTube’s new design and have a taste of it. To try new experiment, just go to www.youtube.com/cosmicpanda and click “Try it out!”. You can go back to the older design by visiting Cosmic Panda webpage and selecting to go back to the “older version.”

The New YouTube test design looks elegant and is more of black-grey, that seems to direct major focus on the played video. The thumbnails of suggested videos in sidebar has gone bigger and the overall interface looks neat. A video size option has been added that lets you watch a video in 3 different sizes – standard, medium and large. Furthermore, you will see a ‘Pop out’ option on right-clicking the video that opens just the video in a new window on browser. There is a blue “Feedback” button on left side of webpage which you can use to share thoughts and give your suggestions, so they can improvise it in future updates.

DELL has introduced new XPS 15 laptop to its XPS series which aims to deliver a high experience. The Dell XPS 15 laptop features a 15.6 inch display, powered by the latest Intel core i3, i5, i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M/435M graphics with NVIDIA Optimus technology. They’re designed to produce mind-blowing audio using the built-in high-fidelity JBL speakers and Waves MaxxAudio technology. The design of XPS 15 is different but not tempting because it’s pretty thick and most of the I/O ports are placed weirdly at the back side of the laptop. Also, the HDD and battery status lights are located at back which are uneasy to see while working on it. There is no VGA port but it has 1 Mini DisplayPort, 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0 (eSATA/powershare combo), HDMI 1.4, LAN RJ45, 9-in-1 media card reader, etc. The LCD cover is thin and is built with anodized aluminium. Unfortunately, there are no colour options for this laptop – default body color is light grey & black.
