The Pirate Bay (TPB), is the worlds most popular and resilient Bit Torrent site that facilitates illegal downloads of media files such as music, movies, games, software, etc. via torrents. TPB is currently ranked as the 77th most visited website in the world with over 5 million registered users and a database of 3.5 million torrent files.

The Pirate Bay is a free site that doesn’t requires any registration to access most the content hosted on it. However, being a largely commercial service TPB is monetized and funded by online advertisements, donations, and merchandise. A huge amount of revenue is definitely needed to power such an active organisation and their mega server rooms that distribute indefinite content across the world everyday.

The Pirate Bay Without Any Ads -

We just discovered thepiratebay.ee, an official and new site address of thepiratebay.org. Surprisingly, it’s not just a mirror domain but a lite and ad-free version of The Pirate Bay that serves all the content from the original site but without any of the bloated advertisements, usually seen on the webpages of TPB. The index page aka homepage of the new TPB mirror site is also neat with minimal text and no extra images. TPB freaks would certainly find it amazing to use the new site with an .ee extension!

Update: As pointed out by Lars in comments, the ad-free site of TPB comes with a catch. i.e. only registered users can use the tracker and the subscription fee is $4.99 per month. That’s disappointing.

Update 2:  thepiratebay.ee is a Scam/phishing site! It appears to have some relation with the original PirateBay but it’s certainly Fake. As dmutters point out -

The site mirrors the real piratbay site – thepiratebay.org — except that the ads are removed, and more importantly, the “Download” button on each torrent page leads you to a PayPal payment page. The money, if paid, will go to a fraudulent email address, admin@gmail.com, and refund will likely be impossible.

I really apologize for posting misleading information. To be frank, I had no idea that it was a scam website at first hand. I hope you guys will forgive me.Related Posts:

Torrentz.com, the best Torrents search engine has just switched their domain name from Torrentz.com to Torrentz.eu. Similar case happened with Demonoid.com some days ago. This actions seems to be taken after US government started taking legal actions against torrent sites with .COM domain extension.

Torrentz.com now redirects to Torrentz.eu and an alternative website address, Torrentz.me is also available to use. [via]Related Posts:

1) TweaK is a great and free URL shortening service, which includes a real working Dot TK domain name. It is potentially the shortest URL shortening service, which uses domain name itself as a URL shortener.

2) u.nu – u.nu is probably the shortest URL shortening service ever. It does a great job by product very tiny links which are too easy to remember.

It doesn’t use look-alike characters, such as l, 1, I, 0, and O. u.nu isn’t picky about upper- and lower-case, so you can easily read your URLs to someone over the phone, or send them via SMS.

3) bit.ly – Another link shortening service. There’s also a bookmarklet for it. Just drag it to you bookmarks bar and use easily.

4) Make your own URL shortening service – Amit Agarwal describes a cool trick to make your own URL shortening service in just 3 steps.
