Groove Shredder is an extension for Firefox that enables you to download music for Free directly from Grooveshark.com, a very popular and amazing online music service. Upon playing the desired music file, the add-on directly shows a window pop-up to save the selected audio file in MP3 format. One can change the file name before saving and the default filename can be customized in the preferences. It also adds a button to navigation toolbar which allows you to easily toggle Groove Shredder on or off.

However, it seems the song being downloaded wont start playing online at Grooveshark until the download is completed or has been cancelled. Also, the downloading cannot be paused and resumed later which occurs because GS is a live streaming music service.

Note: This is an early release of this extension and it may not work properly every time. Therefore, the author asks to submit your Feedback and bug reports if any.

SciLor’s grooveshark™.com Downloader is a free, small, and portable tool which lets you download music from grooveshark the fastest and easiest way. It has a simple user interface, works really great, but is currently available for Windows only. The downloader provides the option to check the “Popular Songs” and lets you automatically download multiple tracks in one go.

To use it, just Download and extract it. Run the file SciLors GrooveDownloader.exe. You can now search the desired music. To download tracks, tick mark the songs and click ‘Add to Download List’ button. Then click the ‘Download’ button from the right side pane. Do select the directory where you want to save the Songs using the Settings option.

Though, one can always listen music online at Grooveshark but you won’t be able to download it for Free. That’s no more the case, I’ve figured an easy and 100% working trick which lets you Download any song or track Free from Grooveshark.

Follow the steps below to Download MP3 Songs Free from Grooveshark:

1. Make sure you’ve Mozilla Firefox browser installed. (Also works with IE)

2. Download Orbit Grooveshark downloader and install it. Close all browsers before installing and make sure the integration with Firefox option is checked while installing).

3. Now open Firefox and you will see a new add-on ‘OneClick YouTube Downloader’ been added to Extensions. This extension is very necessary to perform the required task.

4. Open http://listen.grooveshark.com in Firefox, search for a song, add and Play it.

5. Click the Recorder icon (when it’s blue & green in color). You’ll see the tracks listed which are being played. Click the “Record it” button. Let the recording complete.

Note - Make sure to click the PLAY button and let the track play. Please do not pause or stop the music until recording is completed.

The song will be saved as MP3 in full length on your PC after the recording is completed.

Also, the track is downloaded in its actual bit rate with best sound quality and retains the title, artist name and album name of the particular song.
