Just a day back, Google introduced another cool change to its design by redesigning the substantially used Google bar. The new Google bar replaces the horizontal black bar at the top of the page, allowing you to navigate quickly between Google services, as well as offers the ability to check your Google+ notifications and quickly share stuff with desired people on Google Plus. The latest new Google bar is not launched publicly yet but has been rolled out randomly for some users at the moment.

Fortunately, a Google+ user ‘Maximilian Majewski’ has discovered a 100% working hack to enable the new Google bar right now. The hack can easily be applied on Google Chrome browser to edit a certain value and thus access the awesome new Google menu bar. Switching to the New Google bar is real easy, just follow the steps below:

1. Install the ‘Edit This Cookie’ extension to change cookies on Chrome.

2. Load Google.com, right-click on webpage and select ‘Edit cookies’.

3. Move to the "PREF" section and change its value to this: (exact code)

4. Click on ‘Submit cookie changes’ at the bottom.

5. Reload Google and you have the new Google bar.

You will now find links to the most accessed services in a new drop-down Google menu nested under the Google logo. You can access additional services by hovering over the “More” link at the bottom of the list. Just click on your choice and you’re over to it!

If you have recently updated to iPhone OS 3.0 by jailbroken method, then you might notice that your unofficial iphone apps (jailbroken apps) have stopped functioning.

Windows 7 has came out with lots of new and exiting features. You may have noticed that, we can’t open My Computer directly from Windows 7 Taskbar aka Superbar.

If we drag N drop My computer to taskbar, it gets pinned to windows explorer rather than creating a new place for itself. Windows explorer opens libraries which irritates me and quite a lot of users. So, I’ve found a simple trick to pin My Computer to Windows 7 taskbar. Below procedure also works with Windows 8 Developer Preview.

Follow the simple steps below to Pin My Computer to Taskbar - 

1) Right click on Desktop, and select New > Shortcut.

2) In location of the item enter the following string exactly as given below:

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /E,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

3) Give a name to shortcut. For example, My Computer

4) Now you’ll see a new shortcut of ‘My Computer’ placed on desktop. It has the same icon like that of Windows explorer. You can change its icon if you wish.

5) To pin the shortcut to Windows 7 Taskbar, just right click on it and select “Pin to Taskbar”.

6) Enjoy! Your direct shortcut to My computer is pinned on taskbar now.

Below are some of the useful hidden tricks and shortcuts for Windows, which you might not be knowing earlier. Please try them out and share your experience with us.

1) Using Multiple home pages on any browser

Open the sites or links that you want to set as your home pages. Now go to

Mozilla Firefox – Tools >Options >Tabs and select Use current pages >OK

Internet Explorer- Tools >Internet options >General tab >Use current >Ok

Google chrome – Tool icon >Options >Basics >On startup >Use current >Close 

2) Double click on top left corner to close any open window

3) Ctrl+Tab to shift between tabs in any multi-tab supported browser

4) Copying text easily from error messages and dialogs.

For eg: Go to Run > type your name (mayur) > enter

Now press Ctrl+c and the text will be copied to the clipboard which you can in paste in notepad, word, etc.

[Window Title] mayur

[Content]
Windows cannot find ‘mayur’. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

[OK]

5) Copy and paste text in command prompt (cmd).

Right click on top of cmd window > Edit > Paste

6) Drag n drop a file in command prompt to input its name.

This trick works on all versions of Windows 95 to XP, but not on Windows Vista. [via]

7) Using toolbar of any folder on Windows taskbar

Right click on taskbar >Toolbars >Select new toolbar > browse a folder and done. 

This is how I carry all my songs and movies on my desktop using taskbar.

Get windows installation date and time of recent boot

9) Use ALT+F4 to easily close any window.

10) Checking Windows activation status – Run  slmgr.vbs –dlv

One cool feature I liked in Windows 7 was, the introduction of the new Superbar in place of the old taskbar. The superbar is a very cool and useful feature because it make your taskbar clutter free. It does this by showing only the icons and not the application labels on the taskbar. This makes you open multiples windows at the same time as the space is taken very less.

You can also try and use this amazing feature on Windows Vista to give it a clean look as similar to Windows 7 Superbar or icon only taskbar.

Follow the registry hack below to get it done:

1.  Click on the start button and type in regedit and hit Enter.

2.  Navigate through HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Desktop\WindowMetrics.

3.  Create a new string value (REG_SZ value) and rename it as MinWidth

4.  Set the value of MinWidth to –255

5.  Restart Windows and experience the difference.

I have tried out this feature on my Windows Vista and I’m really delighted to use it.
