Internet Explorer 9 Beta is now officially released by Microsoft for Windows 7 and Vista. IE9 is packed with a redesigned user interface, supports HTML 5, and offers many new features like pinning sites, jump lists and aero snap.

IE9 supports Full hardware acceleration for text, graphics, and video to provide a rich web experience. By default, hardware acceleration (GPU rendering) is enabled in IE9 to offer next-generation experiences with GPU-powered HTML5 graphics.

If you’re experiencing issues or have a lower configured system, then you might want to disable this feature and switch to software rendering. To disable Hardware Acceleration in Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) Beta, check the method below:

1. Open IE9, click the “Tools” icon (Alt+X) and select Internet options.

2. Under Internet options, open the ‘Advanced’ tab and tick mark the option named “Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering”.

3. Click Apply, Ok and restart the browser.

Leading hard drive manufacturers like Seagate and Western Digital (WD) offer a limited warranty of 5 or 3 years. By default, the warranty date is calculated from the manufacture date. It means a hard disk bought in January 2010 which is manufactured in August 2009, will have its warranty time calculated from Aug.

WD offers an easy way which allows users to update the warranty of their HDD online, thus to calculate it from the date of purchase. To do so, you need to have a proof of purchase, i.e. payment receipt or Bill.

If you feel that the warranty date needs to be updated from the purchase date, please carefully follow the instructions below:

1. Register online for a new account at WD or Login if you already have one. You will then receive an email with a confirmation link, click on the link to verify your email address and complete the registration process.

2. Visit this page and fill in all the required entries. Select your Product (Internal or External HDD), category as Warranty & Replacement and input hard drive serial no.

To find your WD hard drive serial no. download SIW and run it. Select the ‘Storage Devices’ option under Hardware. Locate the serial and model no. for your WD hard drive.

Note – Don’t enter the WD- part which is there at starting of serial number.

3. Enter “Update warranty” in the subject line under Question Data.

Attach a picture or a scanned copy of your purchase receipt (jpg, jpeg, or gif formats only, max 1.5 MB)

4. Click Continue, then you will receive an auto-response email from WD.

5. Wait for a day or two for WD staff to verify the information and update the warranty accordingly. You will then receive a response about the status of your email.

It is advisable to determine the CPU socket type of your motherboard before proceeding to upgrade to a latest processor. For example: Latest CPUs like Intel Core i3, Core i5, Core i7 processor requires a motherboard with LGA 1156 socket and are not supported by boards having Socket 775 LGA.
