A few hours back, Apple unveiled OS X Lion, iOS 5, and iCloud at the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. WWDC 2011 Keynote Address was presented by the trio – Phil Schiller gave demos of some exciting new features in OS X Lion, Scott Forstall discussed about new features and advancements in iOS5 and Steve Jobs presentation was all about their new service iCloud.

Apple has just released an official WWDC app for its upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference 2011, scheduled to start on June 6th at Moscone West in San Francisco. The WWDC app is designed for attendees of WWDC so they can easily grab conference related information on the go using their iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Make sure to download the app if you’re a participant at next week’s WWDC, it’s Free!

The WWDC 2011 app is your mobile guide to the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. Access a range of conference information on-the-go from your iPhone or iPad. You can quickly search the conference schedule, make a reservation at the User Interface, App Review, iTunes Connect, Program Support, or Developer Publications lab, view floor diagrams of Moscone West, and create a custom schedule of the sessions, labs, and events you plan on attending.

Reserve Time at the Labs

The WWDC 2011 app allows you to make a reservation at the User Interface, App Review, iTunes Connect, Program Support, or Developer Publication lab. Once you make a lab reservation, it will appear in the schedule section of the app when you filter your view by Favorites.

Sessions and Labs Schedule

View the daily conference schedule including lunchtime and evening events. Filter your view to search by technology, platform, sessions, or labs.

Create Your WWDC Schedule

Tap on the detail view of any session, lab, or event. Then tap "Add to Favorites". Your selections will be added to the Favorites section of the app and can be updated on-the-go.

Locate Sessions and Labs

Easily find your way around Moscone West with detailed floor maps. You can also tap on a specific session or lab for the level and location where you need to go.

Conference News

Stay up-to-date with all the announcements during the week. The WWDC 2011 app provides you with the latest news as soon as it’s announced.

Apple addicts would be real delighted to know that Apple has now officially confirmed the announcement of its most anticipated software and service. The upcoming WWDC 2011 event will be presented by Steve Jobs itself followed by other Apple executives where the giant corporation will reveal the much awaited; Mac OS X Lion, iOS 5, and Apple’s new cloud service referred as iCloud.

CUPERTINO, California—May 31, 2011—Apple® CEO Steve Jobs and a team of Apple executives will kick off the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address on Monday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. At the keynote, Apple will unveil its next generation software – Lion, the eighth major release of Mac OS® X; iOS 5, the next version of Apple’s advanced mobile operating system which powers the iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch®; and iCloud®, Apple’s upcoming cloud services offering.

WWDC will feature more than 100 technical sessions presented by Apple engineers. Mac® developers will see and learn how to develop world-class Mac OS X Lion applications using its latest technologies and capabilities. Mobile developers will be able to explore the latest innovations and capabilities of iOS and learn how to greatly enhance the functionality, performance and design of their apps. All developers can bring their code to the labs and work with Apple engineers.

It’s highly speculated that iOS 5, would be completely revamped with a whole lot of new and exciting features. Unfortunately, no new hardware will be announced in upcoming WWDC as its main emphasis is on software. Let’s see what Apple has to offer us.

Back in March end, Apple officially announced they’re going to unveil “the future of iOS and Mac OS” at its five-day annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2011 commencing on June 6 through June 10, 10:00 AM at San Francisco’s Moscone West. It is assumed that Apple will unveil the next major iteration of iPhone OS ‘iOS 5’ and ‘Mac OS X Lion’ at the WWDC 2011 Event. The much anticipated iPhone 5, is certainly dropped out from the upcoming event and is expected to launch later in Fall 2011.

Apple has finally announced the dates for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2011 commencing on June 6 through June 10 at San Francisco’s Moscone West. Apple will unveil “the future of iOS and Mac OS” at this five-day conference, including exciting demonstrations of the new apps and more than 100 technical sessions presented by Apple engineers. It is still unconfirmed whether the much speculated iPhone 5 will make itself to the WWDC 2011 keynote or not?

“At this year’s conference we are going to unveil the future of iOS and Mac OS,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “If you are an iOS or Mac OS X software developer, this is the event that you do not want to miss.”
