Yesterday, when I tried to download Google Earth from official Google Earth website, it downloaded the Google updater instead of Google Earth.
Google Earth has now been included as part of Google Pack, which has Google Updater as one of its core program. There is a solution for people who need Google Earth but not require or like Google Updater to automatically install and update Google Earth for them.
In Google Earth Help topic related to installation and uninstallation, a direct download link to latest version of Google Earth is provided.
The standalone installer of latest current version of Google Earth:
PC: Download Google Earth Offline Standalone Installer (Updated link)
Mac:
The link above now downloads the Updater program, not the full version.
Which still doesn’t work on my work proxy 🙁
See for a direct link.
Hi there, your web page is misleading. It says you can download the plain Google Earth installer (for PCs) from the mentioned link. But this downloads the updater not the installer.
There are plenty of reasons to get the plain installer (as oppsed to updater) – installing on multiple machines withoutout wasting internet useage – or installing on a machine that does not (presently) have an internet connection.
Please don’t go the microsoft way and take our control away…
Thanks,
Dave
Thank you it works great–no Google Updater!
