Songspk.pk has been Blocked in India [Update]

Songspk.pk, one of the biggest illegal music downloading sites is apparently blocked in India. Songs.pk was also banned by Indian Internet service providers a year ago in 2012, following a petition filed in the Calcutta High Court by Indian music industry bodies – Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL), Indian Music Industry (IMI), and Sagarika Pvt Ltd. However, Songs.pk was soon relaunched in India with a new domain songspk.pk, which to date was serving all sorts of illegal music downloads for Bollywood movies. It seems songspk.pk has been issued a legal notice once again as the site has been partially blocked in India by ISPs like Airtel and BSNL on directions issued by DOT.

On visiting Songspk.pk (even using HTTPS), a message appears saying: “This website/URL has been blocked until further notice either pursuant to Court orders or on the Directions issued by the Department of Telecommunications”

~ We’re still figuring out whether the site has been blocked by other Indian ISPs as well? This post will be updated will more information soon.

Update 2: Downloadming.info is also blocked and is displaying the same message. Though, the site can be accessed using a different URL – downloadming.me

Update 3 (2 May): Songspk.pk now seems to be opening fine on Airtel.
