At an event today, HTC launched its 2017 flagship “the U Ultra” which was announced last month. The U Ultra is the first smartphone from HTC’s new U series which also has a low spec’d version in the form of “the U Play”. The U Ultra sports a 5.7″ Quad HD display at 513ppi with Gorilla Glass 5 protection which is accompanied with a 2.0″ secondary display on top for instant notifications, similar to the LG V20. The phone features a premium all-glass exterior that looks highly glossy and HTC calls it ‘Liquid Surface’. The rear glass is precisely curved around the sides and edges, making a perfect blend between glass and metal. According to HTC, the glass has been treated with “Optical spectrum hybrid deposition”, a process to give the glass multi-layered color to reflect light beautifully.
With the U Ultra, HTC has also introduced a new Sense Companion assistant that learns from you and offers you intelligent suggestions. Similar to the HTC 10 Evo and iPhone 7, HTC has dumped the 3.5mm headphone jack on this phone. Another worthy addition is HTC’s new USonic, a sonar-like technology that has tiny microphones built into both earbuds that “listen” for sonic pulses, and then adjusts the audio to match your ears’ unique architecture. Now let’s check its technical specifications:
