Recently, Microsoft released the IE9 Release Candidate publicly for everyone. If you’ve previously installed the Internet Explorer Beta but haven’t upgraded to IE9 RC yet, then you can easily do that now. Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate is now available as an update via Automatic Windows Update to users of IE9 Beta.
If you’ve disabled automatic Windows Update, then you can install IE9 RC from Windows Update manually by launching Windows Update from the Start Menu and check for updates. Tick mark the update named “Windows Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate for Windows 7” listed as Important.
When Windows Update starts installing Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate, you will see the IE9 installation screen as shown below:
Microsoft has decided to eventually distribute the final IE9 release (the Release-to-Web, RTW) build via AU and WU to all users, so as to keep them more secure and up-to-date.
Note: If you don’t want to install this update, then simply right-click the update and select the ‘Hide update’ option.
