Most of the Android phones nowadays feature fingerprint scanner support including the mid-range ones like Redmi Note 3, Le 2, Meizu M3 Note, Moto G4 Plus, Coolpad Note 3 Plus, and such. The fingerprint lock is certainly safer, faster, and more convenient than the usual PIN or Pattern lock method on Android. With the introduction of Marshmallow, one can lock or unlock specific apps using the fingerprint sensor provided the functionality is enabled in the software. But not all phones have this feature even if they’re running on Android 6.0 such as Le 2 for instance whereas Redmi Note 3 running MIUI has it integrated by default. Don’t worry, you can still lock apps using the FP sensor on your Le 2 with great ease and full functionality.
To lock apps on Le 2, simply install “CM AppLock” from Google Play. The app has a neat UI and is completely free to use without any annoying ads. It requires Android Marshmallow and Fingerprint lock is supported on specific devices from Samsung and several other devices including the LeEco Le 2. It offers the ability to lock apps using your fingerprint to quickly unlock apps such as WhatsApp, Gallery, Facebook, Messages, etc. and users can also enable lock protection for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. One can set a PIN or Pattern protection in addition to fingerprint unlock to protect specific apps.
There are some useful settings such as lock apps immediately, apply new themes, and set incorrect attempts duration before the app takes intruder photos. The Intruder selfie feature works well and instantly notifies you via email about the intruder trying to snoop into your phone along with his picture, recorded date, and time.
We’re pretty impressed with this app that works like a charm without any lags. However, it doesn’t come with the ‘Prevent uninstall’ option which means that anyone can uninstall CM AppLock thereby being able to access all the locked apps which is certainly a big limitation.
