Earlier today, Micromax has introduced yet another smartphone in the combative sub-10k price segment which is targeted towards the selfie-focussed audience. Priced at Rs. 9,999, the Micromax Selfie 2 sports an all metal body and packs a Fingerprint sensor at the back. The phone runs on Android Nougat out of the box and its key highlight is the 8MP front camera with a selfie flash. It will be available at retail stores starting 1st August. Now let’s discuss rest of the package:
Micromax Selfie 2 comes with a 5.2-inch HD display with 2.5D glass and a high brightness panel that claims to offer better visibility under sunlight and low light as well. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor. This is coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 64GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. A 3000mAh battery keeps the phone running. In terms of connectivity, it includes Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth, and GPS.
Speaking of the key aspect, the front camera is an 8MP shooter with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide angle lens. It offers features like one touch shot, beauty mode, and real-time bokeh effect that focusses on the subject and blurs rest of the background. The primary camera is a 13MP shooter with Sony IM135 lens, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. It supports Auto scene detection that analyses the condition and lets you choose the best settings whereas the Super Pixel mode minimizes noise and blur.
Similarly to the recently launched Yu Yunique 2, this one comes with Truecaller dialer integration. Moreover, Micromax is offering a 100 days replacement warranty with the Selfie 2 as a part of one year warranty. Other software features include facial recognition in gallery, gestures and motion keys to simply initiate certain actions.
