Apple seems to be gearing up to maximize its hold in India, which has potential buyers with a keen interest in the latest Apple products and other smart gadgets. This can be seen after Apple recently launched the iPad 2 much sooner in India, which was not usually the case before. Surprisingly, Apple has promptly launched the latest iMac in India that comes with updated hardware and is available at much lower pricing than its predecessor, thus making it pretty affordable for buyers in India.
The price of entry-level iMac i.e. 21.5-inch: 2.5GHz model has been slashed by Rs. 10k now costing Rs. 64,900 only, whereas the 27-inch: 2.7GHz iMac now costs Rs. 14k lesser than its former price. This makes it really a worthy product to buy because the new iMac pricing in India is quite equivalent to its US prices considering the taxes, customs duty, and shipping charges that add up if we buy an imported unit from the US.
The updated iMac 2011 is now up on the Apple India site along with its official prices in India.
