Yesterday, OnePlus finally dropped the news regarding the unveiling of much anticipated “OnePlus 5” which is scheduled for June 20th at 12:00 PM EDT through an online launch event as seen in the past. Soon after the exciting news, the alleged new press render of the OnePlus 5 surfaced online via courtesy of Android Police. The leaked render dismisses all the previous rumours and gives a definite view of the OP5 design. Following the announcement, OnePlus has planned pop-up events around the globe where interested fans can get a first glimpse of the device. The company will be launching the OnePlus 5 in India just two days after the global unveiling, on June 22nd at an event in Mumbai at 2 PM IST.
As per the fresh render, OnePlus 5 will sport a dual rear camera setup and the design seems very similar to iPhone 7 Plus. The flash is placed adjacent to the camera module whereas the OnePlus branding is in the middle. The power key and volume rocker can be seen on the right and left side, respectively. It’s already confirmed that the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor and the leaked image shows the inclusion of OnePlus’ signature mute switch on the top left side. The rest of the hardware is unknown as of now but we do expect more such leaks prior to its official launch.
OnePlus fans in India who set an SMS alert to watch the launch live from today to June 20th will perhaps enrol themselves in a contest that will offer OnePlus 5 to the 5 lucky winners. Diehard fans can also purchase tickets to watch the event live on June 22 that takes place at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai.
