Lenovo is aggressive in terms of launching devices after devices in all possible segments and has been tasting success to a certain extent. In trying to move up the charts, the devices seem to arrive in a flurry! CES a few weeks ago saw the launch of A6000, the entry/mid-range LTE phone and Lenovo is now leveraging the MWC to launch a successor and very quick at that – A7000. This would be empowering the predecessor with more specs and a better UI. Let’s look at the specs, the pricing, and the color choices of the new phone and also compare it with its predecessor without any further delay.

Key Improvements over A6000 –
- Screen size increased to 5.5 inches
- More RAM – 2GB
- Better processor – Octacore
- Better front camera – 5MP
- Slimmer – 7.99mm
- Better OS – Android™ 5.0, Lollipop with VIBE UI
- Bigger battery – 2900 mAh but this may be negated given the fact that it has a bigger screen
- Color choices
Overall it’s an improvement in the right direction and the A7000 will be a perfect, stiff competition to Yureka and Redmi Note. Though A6000 was a 4G LTE phone, it was under spec’d and wasn’t a fair competition. This will be the first phone from Lenovo to come with Android Lollipop at this range. We will have to wait and see how the MTK processor performs here but on paper, with the pricing, Lenovo seems to be hitting the sweet spot.
