Meta first introduced Professional Mode to select creators in the U.S. in December 2021. Since then, the feature has expanded globally, allowing anyone to become a creator by simply enabling Professional Mode on their existing Facebook profile.
What is Professional Mode on Facebook?
Professional Mode is designed for creators and is disabled by default. When turned on, it gives users access to:
- Monetization tools to earn money from content.
- Professional tools to grow an audience.
- Insights and analytics to track content performance.
When you turn on Professional Mode for your profile, your profile’s follower setting is set to Public, which means anyone can see your public posts in their Feed. However, you can still control visibility for individual posts and share stuff privately with friends.
Unlike Facebook Pages, Professional Mode integrates directly with your existing profile, so there’s no need to create and manage a separate creator profile.
Why Turn Off Professional Mode?
Some users may decide to turn off Professional Mode on Facebook if they:
- No longer wish to be a content creator.
- Prefer to keep their Facebook profile personal.
- Want to use a separate Page for their public content.
Worry not, disabling Professional Mode is easy and can be done on both desktop and mobile. Before proceeding, review what changes and what stays the same when you opt out of Professional Mode.

The “turn off Facebook professional mode” simply doesn’t show up on my sites.
I’m suspecting Facebook about trying to tie us in. But I have not the least commercial intent with my sites. and I don’t want to spend a cent on boosting.
I’m really upset about this shortcoming. I would really quit if I had an alternative.
