iOS 18 introduces a highly customizable Control Center, allowing users to add, rearrange, resize control buttons, and even create multiple pages. However, if you’ve been experimenting with the new Control Center options, you may end up with a cluttered or disorganized layout.
Thankfully, the iOS 18.1 update (and iOS 26) includes a much-needed option to reset the Control Center to its default layout. This means you no longer have to deal with scattered control icons or rely on the broader “Reset All Settings” option to fix layout issues.
Starting with iOS 18.1 and continuing in iOS 26, you can easily reset your Control Center layout to factory defaults in just a few taps.
Here’s how to reset the Control Center on iOS 18.1 or later and iOS 26.
How to Reset Control Center on iOS 18 and iOS 26
To clean up and revert to the default Control Center on iOS 18 or iOS 26:
Important: Make sure your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS 18.1 or iOS 26.
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to Control Center.

- Tap Reset Control Center.

- Choose Reset Control Center again to confirm.

Voila! Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to open the Control Center, and you’ll see the default setup of control icons.
Adding New Controls to iOS 18 or iOS 26 Control Center
After resetting, some custom controls you previously added may be missing, but you can easily add them back.
To add a control to the Control Center:
- Go to the Control Center.
- Tap the + icon at the top left corner.
- Tap Add a Control at the bottom.
- Search or browse for the desired controls and tap to add them.

To edit or rearrange controls, long-press anywhere on the Control Center page. Then tap the – icon at the top-left of a control to remove it. Similarly, hold and drag a control to a new position to rearrange it.
