Facebook introduced Instant Games to its platform back in 2016. As the name sounds, these are casual and fun games that basic users can play with their Facebook friends. Instant Games on Facebook are free to play and are accessible immediately as they run online.
The social media giant offers a massive collection of Instant Games that users can play through the Facebook app as well as Messenger. You can either search for a particular game or accept an invitation from someone to play it.
Having said that, instant games can turn annoying at some point in time as they show constant notifications. One such game is Thug Life which bombards users with frequent messages and notifications once they start playing it.
If you find this annoying and wish to quit the Thug Life game forever then you need to remove it from Facebook. Though one can delete games from Facebook, however, the process to do so isn’t straightforward.
Today, we will guide you through the steps to get rid of instant games like Thug Life from Facebook and Messenger. This way you can get rid of Thug Life notifications on Messenger.
How to Remove Thug Life from Messenger
Using Messenger
- Open the Messenger app.
- Search for “Thug Life” or open a recent chat conversation with Thug Life.
- Tap the drop-down button at the top right and select “Turn Off Messages“. This is to ensure you don’t receive any messages from Thug Life after removing the game. Additionally, tap on ‘Mute Notifications‘ to turn off Thug Life notifications in Messenger.
- Now go back and tap your profile picture at the top left in Messenger.
- Scroll down and open “Account settings”. Go to “Instant Games” under Security and tap on Thug Life in the Active tab.
- Swipe to the bottom of the screen and tap “Remove Instant Game”.
- Tickmark the option that says “Also delete your game history on Facebook”. If you don’t delete the history then you may continue to get messages from Thug Life.
- Hit “Remove”.
Similarly, you can get rid of other instant games on Facebook.
Using the Facebook App
Alternatively, you can access Account settings directly from the Facebook app to remove a particular game.
To do so, go to Facebook and tap the menu tab (hamburger icon) at the bottom right. Navigate to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Instant Games. Then remove Thug Life following the above-stated steps.

Using Facebook.com on a computer
Just in case, you can delete Facebook games from its web interface as well.
For this, visit facebook.com/settings?tab=instant_games on your desktop. Look for Thug Life under the Active tab. Then check the box next to Thug Life and click the “Remove” button. Hit Remove again to confirm your decision.
Enjoy! The annoying notifications from Thug Life shouldn’t bother you anymore.

I blocked the game but still have the thug life game still send messages from other people\’s messenger. Is there a way to stop that? I can\’t get back to the game since it\’s blocked

Thug Life is the biggest jokes running on Facebook instant games! I have complained upwards of 20 times a day about loading/freezing issues. They can make 50 more levels, but they won’t or can’t address the tech problems. They won’t respond on their page or via messenger, and we cannot contact them on messenger. Considering we have to give up our info for them to constantly notify us, how is this allowed? Why are we not allowed or able to contact them back? I have experienced nothing but problems since I reached level 50 2 months ago. I’m still on level 50 because of it!!! My raids/attacks freeze every other one, and don’t count and giving and receiving bribes has to be restarted constantly as well!! I restart my game every other action because of it!! AWFUL!!We cannot leave posts on their page, and their last post was a year ago?? You can only comment, and I’m not the only one with issues with this piece of junk and the admins! No one ever responds to our issues or addresses any of the issues, so why even allow feedback? If they have our information and can contact us constantly, but we can’t post new posts to their page, send reply messages in messenger or get any response to “feedback”, doesn’t this fall under being fraudulent? Somehow I uninstalled the fuckinh game thug life and now I cannot play or delete it. it sends me about a 1000 notifications A-day I want to instant games and it’s not their please help me.

This game causes so many problems I don’t have enough room to mention them all the game is so f***** up you lose places you change the screens in the middle of a f****** game it drops the game right in the middle of a play and goes back to Facebook it’s just so f***** up on so many levels it is so messed up on so many levels it’s not even funny and it doesn’t do any good to comment or anything because nothing gets done about it it is a piece of s*** I am disabled and all I have is the games that I play and this one keeps me so damn mad because it changes screens you lose friends it’s just a piece of s***
